Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical / Infectious Disease

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Every-other-weekend required (Friday, Saturday, Sunday for nights)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on an 18-bed Medical Surgical / Infectious Disease unit, including patients in isolation for conditions such as COVID, MRSA, C-Diff, and other infectious diseases
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5–6 (1:4 for COVID patients), working alongside CNAs and a 24/7 Charge Nurse
• Administer and manage IV medications including Heparin, antibiotics, and other standard MedSurg drips; no cardiac drips required
• Adhere to and enforce strict isolation precautions and infection control protocols
• Monitor patients who may be on CPAP, BiPAP, or high-flow oxygen (managed in coordination with Respiratory Therapy); interpret remote telemetry is not required
• Float to other MedSurg units as needed; if floated to a Telemetry unit, patient assignments will be within the RN's skill set

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license
• Current BLS certification (only required certification)
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records required
• Strong knowledge of Medical Surgical nursing, infectious disease care, and isolation precautions
• Valid, unexpired government-issued driver's license (copy required at submission)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for patients with infectious diseases including COVID, MRSA, and C-Diff
• Familiarity with remote telemetry monitoring in a MedSurg setting
• Experience working with patients on CPAP, BiPAP, or high-flow oxygen
