Job Description
Step into a meaningful and impactful role supporting students with special needs at a dynamic elementary and middle school setting. This contract opportunity is available immediately and continues through May 31, 2027. Two full-time positions are open, calling for dedicated Special Education Teachers in a self-contained classroom environment known for being the district’s highest-needs campus and located on a military base.
You’ll work closely with a manageable caseload, with a maximum of 13 students per teacher and up to 8–10 students present in the classroom at any time. Most students are on the autism spectrum, and they receive support from multiple paraprofessionals in each classroom. Students benefit from attending specials alongside their designated aides, creating an inclusive and well-supported learning experience.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active Nevada Special Education Teaching License
- Autism Endorsement on your license highly preferred
- Prior experience supporting students with autism and high-needs populations is a strong asset
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans tailored to each student’s needs
- Collaborate inclusively with paraprofessionals to deliver targeted instruction and behavioral support
- Foster a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment for students with diverse needs
- Maintain regular communication with families and service providers to monitor and report on student progress
- Adapt teaching strategies and classroom activities to promote student success and growth
Enjoy a reliable school-day schedule (7:30 AM–3:30 PM), comprehensive health benefits, a matching 401k, and competitive weekly pay.
If you are passionate about making a difference for students with autism and high-needs backgrounds, and you meet the required licensing criteria, now is the time to take your next rewarding step. Apply today to empower students and enrich your teaching career.
Compensation for this position ranges from $26.00 to $47.00. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals. Full details of our healthcare benefits plan can be found here. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
