Commercial Construction Superintendent | Ground-Up & Renovation Projects | Leadership, Scheduling, Safety & Quality Focused Vertex People Solutions is partnering with a growing commercial construction firm to identify an experienced Superintendent to lead field operations on ground-up and renovation projects. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for project execution, safety, quality, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and client satisfaction from mobilization through closeout. Position Summary The Superintendent provides overall field leadership for assigned construction projects. This individual is responsible for coordinating daily operations, enforcing safety standards, maintaining quality control, managing subcontractors, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract documents. Key Responsibilities Project Planning & Site Logistics Develop and execute pre-construction field plans. Review construction documents and identify critical path activities and long-lead items. Establish site logistics, material flow, parking, utility protection, safety measures, and emergency procedures. Coordinate stormwater management and site compliance requirements. Schedule & Production Management Collaborate with project management to develop and maintain project schedules. Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to meet milestones. Develop and manage three-week look-ahead schedules. Implement recovery plans when schedules fall behind. Budget & Cost Control Partner with project management to achieve budget objectives. Support productivity, manpower efficiency, quantity verification, and rework prevention. Verify T&M work and maintain documentation accuracy. Quality Management Establish project quality control plans. Conduct pre-installation meetings and manage quality expectations. Ensure inspections are completed and deficiencies are promptly corrected. Drive punch-list completion with a focus on delivering exceptional finished projects. Document project progress through daily field reporting and photos. Documentation & Reporting Maintain daily reports, timesheets, safety records, inspections, field directives, and project logs. Keep drawings, as-builts, and project documentation current and organized. Utilize project management software to track and report project activities. Maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, engineers, inspectors, suppliers, and trade partners. Represent the company professionally on all job sites. Safety Leadership Implement and enforce project-specific safety plans. Conduct weekly safety inspections and toolbox talks. Address safety concerns immediately and stop work when life-safety issues are identified. Maintain clean, organized, and compliant job sites. Qualifications Required Bachelor\'s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field OR 10+ years of commercial construction experience. OSHA 30 certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days). Experience with commercial renovation and ground-up construction projects. Proficiency with scheduling software (MS Project or similar). Experience using project management platforms such as Procore. Proven ability to manage subcontractors, schedules, budgets, and project safety. Valid driver\'s license with a satisfactory driving record. Preferred First Aid / CPR certification. Construction layout experience.
