Description

American Traveler is hiring a Stepdown/PCU RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of experience and an SC or compact RN license in hand.

Details

• Progressive Care Unit (stepdown) setting within a hospital
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7p-7a
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday rotation required
• Floating required within scope to meet facility needs, with agency staff floating first
• No on-call responsibilities
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or compact license required in hand prior to start
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA only)
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent stepdown/PCU nursing experience required
• Prior ICU and/or stepdown experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide stepdown-level nursing care to cardiac, telemetry, neuro, respiratory, and post-surgical patients
• Skills in IV therapy, line management, ventilator care, dysrhythmia management, and cardiac monitoring are valued
• Experience with neuro stepdown conditions such as CVA, craniotomy, and post-TPA care is beneficial
• Royal blue scrub color required
• Free parking available
• First-time travelers may be considered depending on position needs
• Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for 1 year before returning as a traveler
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of application for consideration
• Local candidates are not accepted
• Must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel rate
• During hurricane season (June-November), all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
• Approximately 4 hours of pre-start training modules required
