Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

This position is for a contract Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department. The shift is from 07:00 to 19:00, requiring no on-call. A total of 36 guaranteed hours are provided per week. The Emergency Department consists of 23 beds and has a nursing staff of 40 members. Staffing levels fluctuate based on patient volume. Day shift typically includes 1 CNC, 5 RNs, 1 Paramedic, and 1 PCT. Midshift generally comprises 4 RNs. Night shift includes 1 CNC, 5 RNs, 1 Paramedic, and 1 PCT. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 4:1. Typical procedures performed include cardioversion, TNK, and moderate sedation. Candidates should be team players, flexible, with a positive demeanor. Dress code requires navy blue scrubs. Recognition includes being awarded ICARE in 2023 and being certified as a Primary Stroke Center and Level IV Trauma Center. The department has a supportive culture, fostering collaboration among team members. Staff retention is a priority, with successful recruitment of new contract labor nurses.
