DOT Box Truck Driver / Traveling Field Operations Associate


Location: South Fort Worth, TX | Nationwide Travel Required

Schedule: Primarily Monday-Friday with weekends, extended hours, and overnight travel as needed

Pay: $20/hr

Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire

Travel: Frequent nationwide travel throughout the United States

Express Employment Professionals is hiring a dependable and mechanically inclined DOT Box Truck Driver / Traveling Field Operations Associate for a company that provides commercial refrigeration, catering equipment, and temporary kitchen solutions for trade shows, sporting events, festivals, retail installations, and other large-scale events.

This is not a traditional local delivery position. The successful candidate will travel nationwide to transport, install, position, troubleshoot, and remove equipment at customer and event locations. Candidates must be professional, safety-conscious, comfortable with physical work, and able to adapt to changing schedules.

DOT Box Truck Driver Responsibilities

• Safely operate company vehicles in compliance with DOT regulations
• Drive box trucks and transport commercial equipment throughout the United States
• Deliver, position, set up, and dismantle refrigeration and catering equipment
• Load and unload equipment safely and securely
• Represent the company professionally at customer locations, trade shows, festivals, sporting events, and retail projects
• Inspect vehicles and equipment before, during, and after each assignment
• Troubleshoot minor mechanical, equipment, and operational issues onsite
• Use hand tools and basic testing equipment during installations
• Coordinate with drivers, project managers, operations teams, and customers
• Maintain reliable communication by phone, email, Microsoft Outlook, and Teams
• Report equipment damage, customer concerns, and operational issues promptly
• Follow all company safety procedures and operational standards

DOT Box Truck Driver Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Clean five-year Motor Vehicle Record required
• Previous box truck driving experience required
• DOT driving experience strongly preferred
• Willing and able to travel nationwide frequently
• Available for overnight travel, weekends, after-hours work, and extended event schedules
• Previous experience in delivery, logistics, field service, event operations, or external operations preferred
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook and Teams
• Forklift certification is preferred but not required
• Must provide basic hand tools

Physical Requirements

• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Push or pull equipment weighing up to 100 pounds
• Stand, bend, kneel, and work for extended periods
• Climb ladders and work safely around equipment installations
• Work indoors and outdoors in changing weather conditions
• Work in temperatures exceeding 90 degrees when required
• Safely perform hands-on loading, installation, and event setup duties
