Associate Veterinarian

Job Description

Job Description

At Fur Feathers and Friends Veterinary Hospital, we love what we do and we show it. We are a small single doctor practice, that sees everything from dogs, cats, chinchillas, guinea pigs, rabbits, snakes, lizards, birds, pet pigs, to the occasional amphibian. If you are looking for a One in a Chameleon place that doesn’t take themselves too seriously, you are likely the bees to our knees. We have music playing while we work (Oldies, Ray Lamontagne, R&B, Country, Blue October, Disney songs, etc), we gush over our patients (because let's face it, that is why we are all here), we go to continuing education (for the education but a BIG bonus for the free stuff, social time, and fun destinations), we always provide the best medicine and we love to laugh, (often at ourselves)!

We work in a career in which we are expected to be emotionally exhausted by our patients and clients. Why is this the case! We all chose this job because we love it, we love our patients, and we want to offer a great way to improve their lives. Because FFFVH is privately owned and operated, we strive to create an environment that is rewarding, and stimulating, not debilitating. We do not allow bullying from clients, and we set appropriate boundaries with our clientele. Because of this, we have a wonderful clientele that expects great medicine, educational conversations, long appointment times, and a mutual respect and trust where clients and team members can work together for the best interest of the pet, while providing the absolute best medicine. So come with a great attitude, an excitement for learning and life, and help us energize and succeed together!

We are looking for Part-Time or Full Time, but our ideal schedule for you is:

• Monday 8am-6pm (appointments),
• Wednesday 8am-6pm (appointments)
• Friday 8am-noon (surgery) 2pm – 6pm (appointments)
• 2 Saturday’s a month 8am -noon: This equates to 3.25 days a week or 25-30 hrs a week (this include 1.5 hrs for lunch).

Your Ideal Job:

• Pro-Sal with Base starting at $100,000, and a possibility for buy-in after a year for the right person!
• Retirement - 401k
• Health insurance paid 100%
• CE 1 Large Conference, and Hotel paid
• Flexible schedule – Let’s Talk About It!
• Great personal pet perks (discounts and Nationwide Pet Insurance Plan)
• 4 weeks Paid vacation time (can be taken all at once if warranted – just need at least 1 month advanced notice)
• Great Quality of Life and Family Forward practice (owner is a DVMom)
• Fun, Laid Back, but Educational Type of Environment
• Obviously we provide a Hospital (free standing building), Equipment (the good stuff), and a staff (at least 3 staff members per doctor)

Our ideal candidate:

• Positivity – Happiness! It is infectious!
• Achiever - Commitment to collaboration, with the team, doctors and clients.
• Curious Mind - Dedication to education and growth. We love to learn!
• Innovator - Openness to problem solving. Got problems? Bring Solutions!
• Excellence – An amazing sense of purpose, an amazing sense of humor, an amazing human being!

If this ad gets your spidey senses tingling, we want you to apply! They shouldn't be though because we do not see spiders or spider monkeys, actually we do not see primates, venomous snakes, arachnids, or fish/aquatics. Please apply to this ad or call the hospital and ask for Dr. Willett, or Becky our office manager.

We can’t wait to meet you!
