An employer is seeking a skilled SQL Developer / Database Administrator (DBA) for an ongoing onsite contract opportunity in the Chicago area. This individual will play a key role in both database development and administration efforts across two strategic initiatives.
The first initiative involves a legacy migration project, where the consultant will help transition data, databases, and integrations from legacy platforms into a modern SQL Server environment. The second initiative focuses on the design and implementation of a cloud-based data warehouse, supporting scalable reporting, analytics, and enterprise data management capabilities.
This role requires a hands-on professional who can balance SQL development, ETL processes, data modeling, and performance tuning with core DBA responsibilities, including database maintenance, monitoring, backup and recovery, security administration, and environment optimization.
