Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse in San Luis Obispo, California. This role involves providing specialized nursing care in a high-risk obstetric setting, primarily focusing on deliveries, postpartum care, and patient education. Candidates must possess C-section circulation experience, be able to float between labor and postpartum units, and bring their license on the first day. The shift schedule consists of 12-hour shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, with an expectation of at least 36 hours per week.

Job Details:

• Location: San Luis Obispo, California
• Shift: 12-hour shifts, 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, every other week, with first to float between postpartum and labor and delivery units
• Required Qualifications: Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in labor and delivery and postpartum units; current ACLS, BLS, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and advanced fetal monitoring certifications; California nursing license required; COVID vaccination required; experience circulating for cesarean sections; experience with both labor and postpartum care; travel experience preferred

• Float: Float between postpartum and labor and delivery units
• Additional Information: No first-time travelers. The team follows American Obstetricians and Gynecologists (AOG) guidelines and utilizes fetal link for fetal monitoring. Neonatologists are on call, and there is in-house coverage by OB/Neonatology specialists. Hospital provided scrub colors.
• Certifications: ACLS, Advanced Fetal Monitoring, BLS, NRP, COVID Vaccine
• Charting System: Cerner
• Shift Notes: 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM, every other week, first to float
• Cancellation Policy: Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
• Additional notes: No first-time travelers, must have experience with high-risk deliveries, birth plans are highly followed
