Responsibilities

This role involves cross-training to provide support in both Adult and Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU).

Job Purpose: The individual in this position will conduct patient assessments and perform respiratory care procedures for both general and critical care. Responsibilities include:

  • Administering respiratory care for newborns in Labor and Delivery
  • Conducting blood gas analysis and interpretation
  • Managing and maintaining respiratory equipment
  • Educating patients and families in both adult and neonatal settings
Qualifications

Minimum Education Required:

  • Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy Sciences

Minimum Experience Required:

  • Prior experience in Neonatal Respiratory Care, or successful completion of department-specific orientation with validated competencies for this role.

Licensure/Certification Required by Law:

  • Registered with the National Board for Respiratory Care and licensed by the State Board of Medical Examiners.

Qualifications:

  • Current certifications in BLS and NRP are mandatory. The candidate must actively practice and maintain all required competencies in both adult and neonatal areas.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Neonatal Pediatric Specialist credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care is preferred.
