Data Governance Analyst

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Data Governance Analyst based in United States.

The Data Governance Analyst will help establish and operationalize enterprise-wide data governance practices supporting mission-critical federal programs.
This role focuses on making data trusted, discoverable, secure, compliant, and consistently understood across the organization.
You will contribute to governance frameworks, stewardship workflows, metadata management, data quality, lineage, and policy development.
The position offers the opportunity to collaborate with technical teams, business stakeholders, and data stewards in a complex enterprise environment.
You will also support governance tooling, reporting, training, and change management initiatives that strengthen accountability and adoption.
Success in this role requires strong analytical thinking, communication, organization, and the ability to manage sensitive information.
This is a fully remote opportunity within the United States, supporting Eastern Time working hours and mission-focused federal work.

Accountabilities

• Define, implement, and support enterprise data governance policies, standards, frameworks, and operating practices.
• Design and maintain governance workflows that establish clear data ownership, stewardship responsibilities, accountability, and consistent data usage.
• Support data stewardship activities and help ensure governance requirements are consistently applied across organizational data domains.
• Leverage data governance tools such as Collibra to support metadata management, data lineage, policy administration, and governance processes.
• Contribute to data quality, risk management, compliance, and data lifecycle activities by identifying issues and supporting appropriate remediation.
• Promote consistent definitions, terminology, classifications, and usage standards to improve enterprise-wide understanding and trust in data.
• Develop governance reporting, dashboards, documentation, and other materials that provide visibility into adoption, compliance, and data management performance.
• Collaborate with technical teams, business stakeholders, data owners, and stewards to resolve governance challenges and coordinate priorities.
• Support training, communication, and change management initiatives that encourage adoption of governance policies, tools, and processes.
• Manage competing priorities while handling sensitive or confidential information with appropriate discretion and professionalism.
• Support mission-focused data governance initiatives and ensure activities align with applicable federal requirements and access controls.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of relevant professional experience in data governance, data management, business intelligence, or a closely related discipline.
• Hands-on experience with data governance tools and practices, particularly Collibra, metadata management, data lineage, and governance policy development.
• Strong understanding of data governance operating models, stewardship workflows, data management practices, and compliance requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex information and translate findings into practical recommendations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to coordinate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, organize complex activities, and work effectively in a collaborative environment.
• Ability to work professionally with sensitive or confidential information.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and able to comply with applicable federal aviation security, suitability, identification, and system-access requirements.
• Willingness and ability to update identification documents as necessary to successfully complete required suitability and access processes.
