The Clinical Technologist I certified performs lab tests and processes on patient samples or products which involves operating analytical instruments compiling and verifying the accuracy of clinical data and complying with the laboratory QA/QC program.

This role will work in our laboratory within the Fred Hutch Clinic at Overlake Medical Center th Ave NE Bellevue WA 98004. This position will be full-time Monday-Friday and the shift will be 7am-3:30pm or 9am-5:30pm.

Responsibilities

• Handles biological specimens and products; performs clinical assays and lab processes by following the Standard Operating Procedures.
• Operates analytical instruments compiles and analyzes clinical data verifies its accuracy and reports results.
• Performs laboratory quality controls measurements.
• Prepares reagents and materials for clinical procedures.
• Enters patient and specimen information and results in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
• Performs regular maintenance and troubleshooting on analytical instruments.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelors degree in a chemical biological clinical or medical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution or a Bachelors degree and equivalent education and training as defined in 42CFR493.1489(b)(3). Must meet the CLIA education requirements for a high complexity testing.
• Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist/Histocompatibility Technologist or equivalent certification with certified maintenance (as required by individual certification) of continuing education through ASCP AMT AAB ABHI or equivalent agency.
• Proficiency with email spreadsheets and word processing.
• Manual computation skills
• Ability to communicate verbally in person on the phone and in writing in a clear concise and professional manner.
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work in a high pressure time-sensitive and complex health care environment.
• Ability to identify and triage issues appropriately.
• Familiarity with medical terminology
• Must be able to differentiate between colors and pass a standardized color vision screen to perform this role

Preferred:

• Prefer at least 1 year of laboratory training or experience or both in high complexity testing in hematology and/or chemistry. Meets the CLIA training and experience requirements for a high complexity general supervisor in hematology and/or chemistry.

The hourly pay range for this position is from $38.69 to $58.02 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
