Job Purpose:
The Human Resources & Culture Manager is responsible for the day-to-day administration and coordination of Maggie's Place human resource functions and employee culture initiatives. This position supports the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment administration, onboarding, payroll and timekeeping, benefits, employee records, training coordination, compliance, employee relations support, performance review tracking, and offboarding. The role serves as a central resource for employees and managers and helps ensure HR processes are organized, timely, consistent, confidential, and aligned with Maggie's Place mission. The position helps foster a workplace culture rooted in Maggie's Place Core Values of Love, Hospitality, Community, and Excellence and supports staff training and alignment with Trauma-Informed Care and the Five Protective Factors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate recruitment administration, including job postings, applicant communication, interview scheduling, reference/background check processes, offer documentation, and new-hire paperwork.
- Manage new-hire onboarding and orientation, including HRIS setup, required documentation, benefits information, policies, training assignments, and onboarding checklists.
- Coordinate employee offboarding, including separation documentation, system updates, final payroll information, benefit notifications, return of organizational property, and exit processes.
- Administer payroll and timekeeping processes, including reviewing timecards, following up on missing punches or approvals, processing employee changes, and supporting accurate and timely payroll.
- Administer employee benefits, including enrollment and eligibility changes, employee questions, leave coordination, annual open enrollment, and communication with benefit vendors.
- Support employee relations by receiving employee questions and concerns, documenting matters appropriately, coordinating follow-up, and escalating sensitive or complex issues to leadership as needed.
- Coordinate performance management administration, including annual review schedules, forms, reminders, completion tracking, documentation, and employee development follow-up.
- Maintain and distribute HR policies, Employee Handbook updates, forms, notices, and required workplace postings.
- Coordinate, send, and track required employee trainings and certifications; maintain training records and follow up on outstanding requirements, including training related to Maggie's Place Core Values, Trauma-Informed Care, and the Five Protective Factors as assigned.
- Coordinate Trauma-Informed Care (TIC) certification and recertification requirements, including scheduling, communications, documentation, completion tracking, and renewal dates.
Coordinate other required organizational trainings, including compliance, safety, harassment prevention, mandated reporting, role-specific training, and other training assigned by leadership.
Assist with workers' compensation, unemployment claims, employment verification, background checks, motor vehicle record requirements, and other routine HR administrative processes.
Support AmeriCorps onboarding and HR-related documentation, including required records and insurance coordination, as applicable.
Coordinate employee engagement, recognition, appreciation activities, and internal culture initiatives that reinforce Maggie's Place Core Values: Love, Hospitality, Community, and Excellence; support staff in consistently reflecting these values in their work, communication, decision-making, and service to families.
Maintain HR calendars, deadlines, recurring compliance requirements, training schedules, benefit deadlines, review dates, certification renewals, and other department tracking systems.
Prepare routine HR reports, employee lists, training reports, payroll information, and documentation requested by leadership.
Assist with internal investigations and employment-related documentation under the direction of the CEO or designated leadership.
Support managers with HR forms, processes, documentation, employee communications, and consistent application of organizational policies.
Identify opportunities to improve, document, and standardize HR administrative processes for efficiency, consistency, and ease of use.
Maintain strict confidentiality and exercise professionalism and sound judgment when handling employee information.
Perform other human resources, culture, and administrative duties as assigned.
Model and reinforce Maggie's Place Core Values of Love, Hospitality, Community, and Excellence in HR practices, staff culture, onboarding, training, communication, recognition, and employee engagement.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
- HR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR is preferred but not required.
- Experience supervising managers and multidisciplinary teams.
- Must possess or have regular access to a reliable vehicle.
- Must possess a valid Arizona driver's license and maintain active auto insurance.
- Must successfully pass all required background checks.
- Experience with payroll, benefits administration, employee records, onboarding/offboarding, training coordination, and HR compliance.
Work Environment:
Primarily onsite at the Family Success Center with regular interaction with clients, staff, and community partners.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to travel locally and work occasional evenings and weekends when necessary.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, HMIS, and other program management systems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of professionalism and accountability.
- Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed care, case management practices, residential programming, and human services.
