Quality Technician

Overview Advanced Machining is hiring a Quality Technician to support inspection and documentation across our precision machining operations. This position is a good fit for someone who is detail-oriented, understands the basics of GD&T, and wants to continue developing their skills in a manufacturing and quality environment. Responsibilities Perform in-process inspections on the shop floor for lathe, mill, and Wire EDM operations Measure parts using calibrated equipment such as; calipers, micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges, Bridge and Vision CMMs and other precision inspection tools. Read and interpret engineering drawings, including basic GD&T requirements Complete inspection documentation accurately and consistently Support machinists with real-time feedback to help maintain quality standards Assist with first-article checks, lot verification, and general quality assurance tasks Follow internal procedures, customer requirements, and documentation standards Maintain an organized and professional inspection work area Qualifications Basic understanding of GD&T, including true position, datums, tolerances, and related callouts Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and documentation Willingness to learn new inspection tools, processes, and software Good communication skills and ability to work with machinists and production team members Reliable, organized, and comfortable working in a shop-floor environment Preferred Experience Experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001, or similar quality management systems Experience with Bridge and Vision CMMs Compensation Pay: $20–$25 per hour, depending on experience and skill level.
