Lifeguards

LifeguardsWebster Central School District is seeking lifeguards for various hours and shifts. The position requires candidates to be at least 16 years old, with current lifeguard certification, first aid, and professional CPR/AED certification. Candidates must have thorough knowledge of lifeguarding, surveillance, and rescue techniques, as well as an understanding of facility characteristics, rules, policies, and procedures. Leadership, public relations, and decision-making skills are essential. Pre-employment testing of life-guarding skills and knowledge is required. Other responsibilities include recognizing and responding effectively in emergencies, enforcing all aquatic facility policies, rules, and regulations, inspecting the facility on a daily schedule, and reporting any unsafe conditions or equipment to the head lifeguard/supervisor. Candidates must also complete records and reports, participate in regular in-service training sessions, exercise regularly to maintain fitness level, work in conjunction with the head lifeguard to accomplish facility set up and alterations, initiate the emergency response plan and call EMS (911) if necessary, and complete additional duties as assigned by the supervisor or director.
