Pediatrician

Overview Pediatricians are responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of infants, children, adolescents, and young adults. Pediatricians promote wellness and educate about prevention of illness and health promotion. Pediatricians perform physical examinations and developmental assessments, manage pediatric illness, and help families meet their health needs. The Pediatrician will undertake hospital‑based duties as required for the care of clinic patients. Pediatrician: $230,829.00- $300,077.00 DOE with ability to go higher for highly experienced candidates. Responsibilities Description of Primary Responsibility: Provide primary, acute and chronic patient care (including emergency care) to include, but not limited to, ambulatory clinical care at an Association operated Community Health Center, and/or out‑patient or in‑patient medical care at a hospital. Develop and maintain good rapport with patients, treating each one equally without regard to race, creed, color, sex, or socioeconomic status. Perform clinic health care duties for an agreed upon number of hours per week, determined by mutual consent between the Physician and the Executive Director. Hours will be flexible to allow for hospital duties, continuing education activities, and clinic patient needs. Maintain full active hospital privileges at Othello Community Hospital. Provide services for call coverage and in‑patient care at Othello Community Hospital on weekdays, evenings, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, coordinated with the Association health facilities schedule and approved by the Medical Director. Keep accurate, up‑to‑date records of all clinical activities pertaining to patient care. Record keeping shall be in accordance with medical records protocol using only approved forms. Meet all requirements with regard to approved continuing medical education. Advise Medical Director or preferences in advance to accommodate appropriate scheduling. Participate in the Association's Health Care Provider Quality Assurance Peer Review Program. Attend staff conferences and medical meetings. Be available for consultation with other Association Health Care Providers, the Association Director and Board of Directors. Consultation may include administrative matters, medical or business policy and procedures, personnel policy, training and education for employees and patients, governmental regulations, program planning and evaluation, and quality of care assurance. Any questions regarding Board activity or committees should first be discussed with the Chief Medical Officer. Devote entire time and attention to the practice of this profession, together with administrative and management duties as required. Shall not, without express written consent of the Association, render services of a professional nature to any person or firm for compensation while employed, or engage in any competitive or adverse activity to the Association's business. Promote a positive work culture and uphold clinic policies and procedures, including the WE CARE standards of behavior. Must uphold confidentiality at all times regarding CBHA activities, reports, financials, patient health information and other proprietary information specific to CBHA. Perform other duties as assigned. Description of Primary Attributes General Development Ability to work under stressful conditions with frequent interruptions. Ability to maintain a high degree of organization and accuracy with attention to detail and alertness to detect errors. Ability to communicate with patients, business clients, and providers in an effective, friendly, professional manner. Keep in good standing with local and State professional affiliations. Possess an amicable personality with controlled authority to allow respectful and courteous treatment of patients and staff. Professional and Technical Knowledge Graduate of an accredited Medical School. Completion of an accredited post‑doctoral residency program in Pediatrics. Maintain authoritative skill and knowledge in the principles of sound medical practice. Secure good working knowledge of administrative and personnel practices. Familiarity with the scope of practice and general knowledge of the regulatory authority governing the practice of physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners. Be attuned to the unique needs of the indigent and underserved with practice emphasis on rural medicine needs. At least one year of internship. Qualifications License and Certification Licensed to practice Medicine in the State of Washington. Certified by the American Academy of Pediatrics (Preferred). Technical Skills Ability to prepare basic correspondence and simple reports in Microsoft Word. Ability to use Microsoft Excel to create tables and simple displays of information. Ability to create basic presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint. Proficient in the use of Electronic Medical Record Software. Communication Skills Responsible for effectively communicating basic or non‑technical information to co‑workers and others. Ability to provide effective communication of information in written (including electronic) correspondence. Job duties require the effective communication of information during informal and formal verbal presentations. Bi‑lingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required. Physical Demands Ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands, fingers, reach with arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and talk frequently. Ability to climb and balance infrequently throughout the day. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less). Distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more). Peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point). Ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus). Travel Frequent travel to various clinic sites is required. Must possess a valid driver's license and meet company insurance liability standards to drive company vehicles.
