Position Information Supervisor: Dr. Bruce Copeland, Coordinator of School Social Work Employment Period: 11 Months Employment Status: Full-Time Start Date: Immediately Salary: $69,850 -- $112,220 Salary: $73,343 -- $117,831 (if also a licensed clinical social worker) Duties And Responsibilities

ASSESSMENT/EVALUATION

Provides in-home psychosocial assessments.

CONSULTATION

Contributes special knowledge of human behavior and relationships to staff. Consults with parents regarding ways they can help their child become effective in school.

INTERVENTION

Provides crisis intervention services. Provides direct services to students and parents.

COORDINATION/LIAISON

Serves as liaison between school, families and community agencies.

PLANNING/PREPARATION

Assists the school in planning programs that prevent, reduce or alleviate situations which interfere with the learning process of students.

ADMINISTRATION/MANAGEMENT

Organizes time, resources, and services to meet workload demands. Maintains accurate, complete, and punctual records. Professional Responsibilities/Development Abides by NASW's Professional Code of Ethics. Requirements Must possess or be eligible for a Virginia Pupil Personnel Services License with an endorsement in School Social Work (Eligibility: earned a master's of social work degree with a minimum of 60 graduate-level semester hours; or earned an advanced standing master's of social work degree with a minimum of 30 graduate-level semester hours). Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) is preferred. Ability to analyze and interpret information to make recommendations regarding needs for services. Ability to communicate effectively with parents, students, school personnel and resource persons in the community, and mediate differences between family members and school personnel. Ability to prioritize and manage time. Provide own transportation and maintain a valid driver's license.
