Senior Network Engineer

Salary: $155,687 - 210,139 per year Requirements:

• We require an active Secret clearance, with the ability to obtain and keep a TS/SCI.
• We are looking for a CCNP or higher, or at least 10 years of network engineering experience.
• We need hands-on expertise with Cisco routers and switches.
• We require strong command of OSPF and BGP routing, QoS principles including DSCP marking and traffic queue prioritization, dynamic mGRE tunnels/DMVPN, VRF, MPLS/VPLS, and Q-in-Q VLANs.
• We expect practical experience with Wireshark packet analysis and network monitoring platforms such as Whats Up Gold, Cisco ThousandEyes, or similar tools.
• We require excellent written and verbal presentation skills for sponsor and contractor discussions.
• CCIE is preferred.
• We prefer experience with containerization such as Docker, virtualization, network orchestration, and SDN/SD-WAN.
• We value familiarity with the Navy Defense Research Evaluation Network (DREN).
• We prefer experience supporting Navy shore networks, including ADNS.
• We require the ability to commute to San Diego, CA 92106.

• We own architecture, planning, design, and verification activities to deliver production-ready Global Network configurations through business-driven projects.
• We provide technical leadership in defining methods, processes, and standards for tracking network and application performance metrics such as end-to-end response time, latency, and throughput.
• We ensure service quality, performance optimization, and successful implementation.
• We report network infrastructure status directly to the government.
• We handle and resolve trouble calls from contractors and the government Integrated Test Team.
• We attend semi-annual Technical Exchange Meetings to present and review detailed network configurations, future architecture changes, and design constraints with sponsors and contractors.
• We serve as a CMS Level 2 user and are responsible for securely opening and closing the lab facility.

We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer to support the US Navy. This is a 100% on-site role in our San Diego, CA lab with a Monday through Thursday schedule from 0700 to 1630 and Fridays from 0700 to 1530. Travel is expected to be no more than 10% per year.
