The Team PTI’s Global Technical Support (GTS) team is responsible for installing and servicing the most sophisticated container closure system inspection technologies in the world. The Role: Service Technician This role provides service support to customers by installing, calibrating, validating and/or troubleshooting PTI’s leak detection and seal inspection equipment. Responsibilities include traveling to customer sites to install new systems and/or service existing systems (yearly calibration and PM). When not traveling, the technician will work from our offices to assist with system calibrations, testing, product demonstrations, and remote/virtual service. The technician may attend tradeshows/conferences to assist the team with equipment and potential customer interactions. This position offers the opportunity to interact with PTI’s global customer community to ensure total satisfaction with inspection systems and service experience. Essential Functions Work with the GTS Manager and other GTS team members to support new system installations and servicing of existing systems, at the customer’s site or remotely. Provide onsite services for machine calibrations, installation, validation, and/or troubleshooting. Write timely and detailed service reports and feedback on VOC. Provide system technology and operation training for customers. Suggest system improvements based on customer feedback to enhance product performance. Interact directly with customers to provide top-level service. Support GTS management and customer needs in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment. Involves domestic and international travel (up to 60%). Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 1 year of experience with packaging system manufacturing and assembly (preferred) 3 years of experience as a Service Technician (preferred) Basic understanding of HMI/PLC functionality and operation (preferred) Ability to diagnose technical problems and determine proper solutions High level of energy and readiness to travel Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work professionally with customers Detail-, hands-on-, and action-oriented Ability to assess next steps and see beyond immediate tasks Willingness to travel up to 60%; strong customer focus and excellent communication Excel in a fast-paced environment Minimum Education/Training Required Associate Degree (2 years) in packaging or other engineering/technical area Accredited Technical School Degree Military - Advanced Individual Training (AIT) in a technical area If you are interested in working in a high-energy, fast-moving company with leading-edge inspection technologies, please visit our website and apply online today.
