Position To Be Filled: ASAP

Hours & Days Of Work: 12 hour schedule: Dayshift 6a-6p/Nightshift: 6p-6a, 7 days worked during 14 day pay period, every other Fri/Sat/Sun off

Location Of Position: Elkhart

Travel Requirements: Within County (please complete driving page on application)

Job Summary: This position must be knowledgeable of laws and procedures to properly perform assignments of patrol officer and to provide the public with limited technical and legal information; patrol the county to maintain civil peace for the safety of life and property; investigate complaints and accidents and enforce county ordinances, state, and federal laws.

Job Requirements:

• Associate degree or 60 college credit hours in criminal justice or related field preferred
• Indiana Law Enforcement Academy certification and maintain appropriate certifications
• Analyze trends in accidents and incidents of crime, provide visible and viable deterrent
• Testifies in court regarding enforcement and investigative actions
• Pre-employment background check (criminal and credit), polygraph and drug screen
