Media Associate

Location & Work Schedule Open position in all True Media office locations – Kansas City, MO; Columbia, MO; St. Louis, MO; Minneapolis, MN – with a hybrid work schedule: three days in the office and two days working from home. Visa Sponsorship Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without requiring employer sponsorship. Role Overview The full‑time Media Associate will gain exposure to a variety of departments and support our True Success processes. The role involves mastering internal media software (Advantage, Asana, DataStride) and client dashboards, performing media research and data analysis, and collaborating across the agency. A self‑starter who stays current on digital, traditional, and emerging media, and who enjoys teamwork, will thrive. Exposure to all agency departments is critical to discover an area of aptitude and passion. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist with creation of client materials including presentation decks, performance reports, and flowcharts; develop an understanding of media briefs and MAP documents. Participate in client meetings to learn effective delivery of deliverables. Provide points of view on internal topics to the account team. Perform basic media research and gather data for planning. Conduct platform pulls from identified sources such as Simmons. Understand the difference between a channel and a tactic. Compile demographic data and consumer profiles to identify target audiences, including lifestyles and psychographics. Develop introductory abilities related to the planner role in reporting. Understand project management fundamentals including scopes of work, hours estimates, timelines, media authorizations, and file architecture. Create status agendas and Asana tasks; follow up on outstanding tasks. Collect and issue deadlines for materials; report deadlines for creative and internal traffic team. Manage and update creative intake and launch documents. Pull reports to conduct spend checks. Ensure proper project setup and structure; monitor adherence to agency roles and processes. Facilitate internal account communication and issue resolution. Understand campaign measurement strategies and use DataStride; work with RADaR where appropriate; monitor campaign delivery and media reporting; assist with campaign trafficking and pacing; pull data from GA4 and GCM for reporting. Review campaigns and implement tracking aligned with client goals; monitor pacing and work with Specialist or Supervisor to resolve issues. Traffick creative to meet vendor specifications and communicate within relevant channels. Qualifications Proficient with industry tools and systems; strong understanding of media fundamentals, including media math, reach/frequency, consumer research, plan development, scopes of work, project timelines, analytics, and reporting. Experience with Excel is required. Successful completion of required industry certifications – Google Ads Fundamentals, Google Analytics, and Search tests – within six months in position and renewal annually. Education Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university in advertising, marketing, or communications; or one year of related professional experience in a media agency; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
