Licenses and Certifications: Valid Texas Class “C” Driver’s License or equivalent from another state by the time of appointment. Special Requirements: Applicants must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check within the first six months of hire and maintain CJIS eligibility. CJIS requirements are related to system access, and the following list of convictions and/or deferred adjudications will result in failure of the CJIS background check and disqualification and/or termination of employment: Felony Convictions, Felony Deferred Adjudication, Class A or B Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication, Class A or B Misdemeanor convictions, an open arrest for any criminal offense (Felony or Misdemeanor), and family violence convictions. General Purpose Under direction, plan, coordinate, and manage one or more projects that may impact a division or department throughout the project’s lifecycle and implementation. Typical Duties Plan, organize, manage, and direct information technology project development, including submitting proposals, budgets, scopes, and schedules of information technology projects. Initiate projects and perform analysis of end-user and stakeholder business needs, feasibility, project definition, and project authorization. Participate in discussions of project management department goals and objectives with IT senior management, system owners, and decision-makers. Define and disseminate the project success criteria to involved parties throughout the project life cycle. Effectively communicate project expectations to sponsors, team members, and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion, and facilitate project management and project status review meetings. Ensure adherence to the product or project budget for a single system or project and develop and maintain plans, processes, and systems for risk mitigation. Document findings for future reference and learning and ensure compliance with Department of Information Technology standards, policies, and procedures. Supervise assigned personnel, schedule, assign, instruct, guide, and check work; provide training and development; enforce personnel rules and regulations and work behavior standards; counsel, motivate, and maintain harmony; interview applicants and recommend hiring, termination, transfers, discipline, or other employee status changes.
