RN Registered Nurse Emergency Room

Position Details This position is located at HCA Florida Citrus Hospital's Main Campus (502 W. Highland Blvd., Inverness, FL 34452). Role Summary As an Emergency Room Registered Nurse, your voice influences patient care at every turn – through collaboration with your direct manager, participation in hospital councils, and involvement in national nursing initiatives. You’ll help shape decisions that elevate patient outcomes and advance the future of nursing. Responsibilities Assess patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate interventions. Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Document the administration of care in the patient medical record promptly and thoroughly. Respond promptly to patient requests, anticipating needs and resolving them proactively. Teach patients, families, and caregivers about their medical condition, status, treatment plan, medications, side effects, and follow‑up measures. Translate complex medical terminology to ensure full understanding. Teach patients, families, and caregivers about non‑medicinal follow‑up measures such as healthy diet, exercise, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes. Prepare patients and families for future self‑management. Qualifications Licensed as a Florida Registered Nurse or hold a compact license with an active FL RN license within 60 days of hire. Nursing diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred. Previous experience in an acute‑care setting strongly preferred. Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required. Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required within 6 months of hire/transfer. Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) and/or ENPC (Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course) certifications required within 6 months of hire/transfer. Current NIHSS, TNCC, and NRP certifications required within 6 months of hire/transfer. CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training required within a 6‑month grace period of hire date for new hires and transferring employees. National Board Certification (CEN) highly preferred. Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication skills. Ability to read/comprehend written instructions and follow verbal instructions. Proficiency with PC skills.
