FORESTRY MAINTENANCE WORKER

POSTING DATE: 03-05-2026 – Open Until Filled FACILITY: Cole Maintenance Shop LOCATION: Aurora, IL HOURS: Monday – Friday 6:30 am – 3 pm; some overtime and weekends may be necessary during planting seasons of Spring and Fall. RATE: $16/hour – minimum starting rate TYPE: Part-Time/Seasonal

FORESTRY MAINTENANCE WORKER

QUALIFICATIONS

Individual must be 18 years of age or older with a high school degree or equivalent. Must possess a valid IL driver’s license. Previous grounds maintenance experience required; preference given to those with tree knowledge and experience with chainsaws and other related equipment. Individual must be able to lift 50 pounds and work outdoors in all weather conditions including high heat and humidity. Skilled in maintenance equipment operations and use of various hand and power tools highly desired. Required to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.

DUTIES

Work under the supervision of the Manager of Arboriculture, performing on-going restoration and maintenance projects. Work well independently with little supervision. Projects include planting, trimming, pruning, watering and inspecting trees and shrubs throughout the District and within the nurseries. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
