Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner – Surgical Services MidHudson Regional Hospital – Poughkeepsie, NY Schedule: 3 Shifts/Week (an average of 1 week of night shifts per month) Summary The Department of Surgery and Surgical Services, in collaboration with the Center for Advanced Practice, is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP), Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner, to join our expanding and innovative team. In this position, the APP will work alongside experienced physician and APP colleagues managing a variety of surgical patients throughout the course of their hospital stay. Responsibilities Performing medical evaluations, treatment, follow-up and consultations for diverse trauma and acute care surgical patients. PAs and NPs with an RNFA are able to 1st Assist in the Operating Room on open and minimally invasive procedures Delivering direct patient care as part of a collaborative patient care team. Gaining a working competency of procedures inclusive of, but not limited to, central line placement/removal, insertion/removal of chest tubes, and arterial lines. Qualifications Candidates must be board certified as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner and possess or be eligible to obtain an applicable New York State license. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 1-year experience, although highly motivated new graduates with interest and abilities in surgery will be considered and are encouraged to apply. Must possess excellent communication skills and demonstrate an ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
