Produce Associate

Overview Base pay range: $16.00/hr - $23.00/hr. This role is with Sam's Club as part of the produce team, focusing on quality, availability, cleanliness and freshness of produce, and frontline customer service to enhance the member’s shopping experience. What you'll do Be a Team Member: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the products; collaborate with cross functional teams and educate other associates on tools, tasks, and resources; communicate effectively and develop interpersonal skills for providing customer service; be flexible to the needs of the business to work in other areas, track goods, maintain in-stock levels, and control shrinkage in a timely manner. Be an Expert: Understand processes and specifications related to quality of various types of produce merchandise (taste, preparation method, use, seasonality); prepare products according to established standards; maintain product safety and follow sanitation guidelines; adhere to applicable laws, regulations, and company policies related to produce quality. Be a Techie: Leverage digital tools to drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and elevate associate engagement; use handheld technology to make decisions related to production, training, and product quality with the member in mind; adapt to new tools and encourage others to use them. Be an Owner: Drive the performance of the area using digital tools; stock and rotate department products using perpetual inventory management techniques; ensure quality and date control standards; eliminate waste; assist customers according to company policies and procedures. Be a Talent Ambassador: Advocate for the department and the club by valuing the member's experience in the meat area and modeling high-quality service and products; execute basics at the highest possible level of quality; exhibit energy, commitment, and passion for the work. Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans; use the Open Door Policy; and apply these in executing business processes and practices. Completes work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources; collaborate with managers, co-workers, customers, and other partners; identify priorities and deadlines; carry out tasks; communicate progress; and adapt to change and feedback.
