New maintenance team members who are in good standing with performance and attendance will be awarded a $500 sign-on bonus ($250 to be paid out in the first paycheck of employment and the remaining $250 to be processed upon the 90th day of employment). Must sign an offer letter by 8/31/26 to be eligible. Job Responsibilities for Porters at AVE: Porters are responsible for maintaining AVE Brand Standards of cleanliness and presentation, while creating a positive, safe and organized work environment. Clean designated assigned amenity spaces and indoor/outdoor areas. This includes but is not limited to sweeping, mopping, vacuuming floors, dusting, polishing furniture, cleaning glass, etc. Troubleshoot/repair resident service requests. This includes but is not limited to appliance repair, HVAC repair, plumbing and electrical. Maintain community exterior maintenance and presentation. This includes but is not limited to watering flowers, leaf clean up, cleanliness of breezeways, trash pick-up, etc. Assist maintenance with suite turn over and work requests. This includes but not limited to changing light bulbs, painting, caulking, shampooing carpet, furniture placement, replacing HVAC filters, etc. Maintenance Coverage after hours (as needed) - Porters execute on call rotation schedule to handle service requests outside of normal business hours. Community Emergencies - Porters are responsible for emergencies that may arise outside of normal business hours. I.e. flood, fire, power loss, etc. Snow Removal - responsible for ensuring community is always clear and accessible during snow falls. Job Requirements for Porters at AVE: Minimum of one to two years of janitorial and/or maintenance experience, i.e. plumbing, electric, carpentry, appliance repairs, etc. Demonstrated strong guest service skills Demonstrated energetic, self-motivating and "can do" positive attitude High-level cleanliness and presentation standards Must have reliable source of transportation for required on-call rotation and community emergencies that may occur outside of normal business hours Basic English communication skills; ability to understand and communicate basic information regarding work assignments and safety protocols Must be available to work the required full-time schedule of Tuesday through Saturday 7:00am to 3:30pm with on-call rotation. Compensation $19+/hour Individual compensation decisions will vary as the hourly base compensation range provided is approximate and determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, qualifications, education, and geographic location. AVE also offers additional bonus potential paid out on a monthly and/or quarterly basis (dependent upon the position), which is not included in the base compensation range listed above.
