Scientist I - Raw Materials

Scientist I at Thermo Fisher Scientific will conduct chemical analyses and testing on raw materials and pharmaceutical compounds in a GMP-regulated laboratory environment. The role involves performing analytical techniques, maintaining laboratory equipment, and collaborating with teams to ensure product quality and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform analytical testing methods on raw materials and in-process samples
• Calibrate and standardize laboratory instruments including balances, pH meters, and chromatographic systems
• Troubleshoot analytical instrumentation and provide technical assistance to other analysts
• Maintain laboratory cleanliness and organize storage areas, fume hoods, and equipment
• Participate in ongoing training and mentor other analysts on chromatographic and documentation techniques

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related scientific field
• Proficiency in laboratory instrumentation including HPLC, GC, FTIR, and UV
• Strong analytical skills with demonstrated laboratory procedures and technical competency
• Excellent documentation skills and meticulous attention to detail
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and laboratory information systems
• Ability to lift 25 pounds routinely and occasionally up to 50 pounds
• Experience handling hazardous chemicals and biological materials safely
