Instructional Specialist III - Physiology Posting Number: req25872 Department: Physiology Location: Tucson Campus, Tucson, AZ USA This position involves serving as a learning facilitator for the laboratory sections of undergraduate Human Anatomy and Physiology courses (PSIO 201 or 202) offered by the Physiology Department in fall 2026 and spring 2027. Learning facilitators coordinate laboratory activities, oversee group work, present slides, answer student questions, and relate laboratory activities to lecture material during each lab session. Coordinate laboratory activities to ensure alignment with course objectives, support group work, assist in presenting slides and addressing questions, and facilitate the connection between laboratory activities and lecture material. Coordinate weekly preparation meetings for instructional staff to ensure alignment with course objectives, instructional design strategies and consistent delivery of content across multiple sections. Facilitate creation and application of assessments, review grading practices to ensure alignment with educational objectives, and provide faculty support in refining grading systems and improving assessment efficiency. Contribute to lab set up and clean up, hold office hours, proctor lecture exams and make‑up assessments, and participate in the final grades meeting. Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology. Excellent communication skills. Exceptional organizational and time‑management skills. Demonstrated ability to work well in a team setting. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; minimum of five years of relevant experience or equivalent education and work experience. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in physiology or related biology field; completion of Human Anatomy and Physiology courses (PSIO 201 and 202) at the University of Arizona; teaching experience as preceptor, tutor, supplemental instruction leader or similar.
