Assistant Property Manager

Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSMI has an immediate opening for an Assistant Manager at our apartment community in south Austin in the Travis Heights area. The Assistant Manager is responsible for maintaining the financial records for the property and assisting the Property Manager with the operation of the property. This position requires excellent computer skills, the ability to communicate effectively with residents, prospects and vendors and to present a positive, professional image while representing the company. Main Responsibilities:Collects all deposits and rent and issues receipts as neededPosts all necessary entries in the accounting system regarding payments receivedPrepares and sends notices of returned checks, late rent reminders and other correspondenceContacts residents regarding balances owed and collects paymentEnsures that lease files are completePrepares and maintains receipt journals, monthly rent roll, delinquency report, etc.Provides leasing assistance to applicants and answers incoming callsAssists residents by providing outstanding customer service Qualifications:Minimum 2 years of prior experience as an Assistant Property Manager in the multi-family industryStrong customer service and interpersonal skillsStrong organization skillsComputer proficiency in Yardi software Required Benefits:Competitive pay and monthly commissionsMedical, dental, vision and AFLAC benefitsCompany 401(k) plan with employer matchPaid vacation, sick time and holidaysSMI Realty Management is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
