Location Perquimans Juvenile Detention Center Position Details Grade: ED20 Position Number View phone number on click.appcast.io month position Full-time (40 hours per week) Work hours: Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4pm Salary: based on state teachers' salary schedule plus a 6% annual supplement. Responsibilities Teach core academic courses to small groups of students in grades 6-12. Plan lessons based on NC Standards and students' individual learning needs. Ensure success with all students while providing appropriate and engaging activities to teach concepts. Provide research-based strategies and interventions to provide an appropriate education for all students in a small group setting. Utilize data to inform all instructional activities based on NC Standards, implement IEPs, and keep all student records. Serve as a member of the interdisciplinary team in order to plan for student services and treatment. Keep all student records, exceptional children's program and other paperwork, and student progress up to date. Required Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience (E&E) are required to qualify for this position. Preferred Management Preferences (Not required) Experience providing effective instruction to meet the needs of students with diverse needs. Experience accurately measuring student learning. Experience effectively managing student behaviors in the classroom. Experience working with multidisciplinary teams. Knowledgeable of special education laws.
