You will help drive our insurance business transformation as we transition from a traditional IT model to a tech organization with engineering excellence as its mission, while co-creating the culture of psychological safety and continuous improvement.Position Description Our Senior Staff Engineer works with our Distinguished Engineer and Staff Engineers to design, deploy, and maintain OpenStack-based environments. You will help lead the automation of cloud operations, support containerization initiatives, and help optimize our CI/CD pipelines. The ideal candidate has expertise in monitoring and observability stacks, Python or similar languages, infrastructure deployment automation, and containerization technologies. Experience with OpenStack is preferred, but additional experience in other required areas may offset.Position Responsibilities As a Senior Staff Engineer, you will:Improve on monitoring, observability and performance of deployed systemsDesign, deploy, and manage OpenStack-based cloud environmentsDevelop and maintain automation scripts and playbooks using Python, Ansible, and GitHub WorkflowsImplement and optimize CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and application deliverySupport containerization initiatives (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)Troubleshoot and resolve issues in cloud and automation workflowsCollaborate with development, operations, and security teamsShare best practices and improve processes within and across teamsParticipate in on-call and operational support as neededMentor junior engineersQualificationsStrong experience with monitoring, logging, alerting and observability in cloud environmentsDeep familiarity with tools like Grafana and PrometheusExperience with performance tuningProficiency in Python programming and scriptingStrong experience with Ansible for automation and configuration managementHands-on experience with CI/CD tools and workflows (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD)Good understanding of networking and security best practices in cloud deploymentsExperience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)Experience with infrastructure as code and deployment automationExcellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsStrong communication and collaboration abilitiesExperience8+ years of professional experience in cloud engineering, platform administration, or infrastructure automation8+ years of experience with OpenStack or similar cloud platforms8+ years of experience with Python and Ansible8+ years of experience with CI/CD systems and containerization technologiesExperience with hybrid or multi-cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure, or on-premises) is a plusExperience with low level virtualization technologies (QEMU/libvirt) is a plusEducationBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experienceAnnual Salary$105,000.00 - $230,000.00The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate.
