Senior Accountant/Project Accountant — ConstructionSumBridge is hiring for our construction related client, seeking a Senior Accountant to support accounting, payroll, and collections functions in a fast-paced, in-office environment. This role offers broad, hands-on exposure across accounts payable and receivable, general ledger accounting, payroll administration, subcontractor management, and light office administration. This is an in-office position based in Federal Way/Auburn area.ResponsibilitiesAccountingProcess weekly Accounts Payable check runs, ensuring overhead invoices are entered prior to each Monday run and checks are prepared by 12:00 PMPrepare journal entries and post to the general ledger as needed to reconcile accountsPrepare month-end payroll-related GL accruals to support monthly close by the 10th of the following monthPerform monthly bank reconciliations across all accountsPrepare daily deposit reconciliations against supporting documentationPrepare AR billings in accordance with each builder's requirements, including schedules of values, lien releases, and sub-lien releases; ensure completed billing groups are fully billed, booked, and job-costed by month-endReconcile and post credit card transactions prior to the 8th of each monthProcess 1099s and related government reporting by January 30thAssist with OCIP enrollment for the company and subcontractors as neededAssist with subcontractor vetting and enrollment in the company's subcontractor management systemAssist with monthly management of subcontractor certificates of insuranceRun semi-monthly subcontractor payments, coordinating with the AP Specialist and routing preliminary reports for field approval prior to final processingAssist with weekly inventory cycle counts, coordinating with the Controller and warehouse team and investigating discrepancies as neededPayroll & Human ResourcesMaintain accurate, confidential payroll records and new-hire documentationManage time clock systems in line with company policy; enroll new employees within 48 hours of hire and remove terminated employeesCollect and reconcile digital and manual timecards within one day of each payroll period end dateMonitor and track employee Sick Time and PTO usage, confirming management approval and available balances before paymentMaintain the Vacation & PTO tracking spreadsheet, reconciling against payroll provider recordsPrepare semi-monthly payroll summaries for management review two business days prior to each pay dateSubmit accurate payroll details to the outside payroll provider one business day prior to each pay dateManage Health Insurance, Dental Insurance, and 401(k) enrollments for new hires and during open enrollmentCollectionsPrepare and distribute a weekly A/R aging report to management and the ControllerPartner with the Controller on accounts 30+ days past due, making initial contact to confirm accurate billing and resolve billing questionsAdditional ResponsibilitiesSupport day-to-day office operations in a small, close-knit office environment, including ordering supplies, light kitchen upkeep, and answering phones and greeting visitorsRequirementsBachelor's degreeConstruction industry experienceProfessional, can-do attitudeThis is an in-office position
