Senior Consultant – Commodity & Energy Trading – Houston, TX Our clients rely on our deep industry expertise to navigate a trading landscape defined by price volatility, increasingly complex value chains, and evolving regulatory demands. We support them in defining and executing trading strategies, assessing and enhancing business capabilities, driving technology and digital transformation, and managing risk and regulatory compliance effectively. What you will be doing Strategy & Commercial Advisory: US market entry, commercial trading & hedging strategy, commercial collaboration models, book structure & transfer pricing. Business Capability Development: trading capability assessment, design, operating & organization design, business process design, change program planning, IT readiness & training, operational excellence. Risk & Regulatory Advisory: risk strategy definition, policy design, capability assessment (market, credit, operational, climate), regulatory & compliance capability assessment (KYC, AML, trade surveillance). Data & Analytics Advisory: data & analytics strategy, architecture design, solution delivery. Technology Advisory & Transformation: technology strategy, architecture design, IT operating model, capability building, program QA & health checks, vendor selection & implementation. Your skills and experience 4+ years of experience in consulting or industry roles focused on Commodity & Energy Trading. Strong client delivery and relationship‑building skills. Deep knowledge of crude oil, refined products, natural gas liquids (NGLs), petrochemicals, and freight trading markets. Comprehensive understanding of energy and petrochemicals value chains. Capability assessment and target operating model development for trading organizations. Experience leading business and IT transformation programs, including change management. Advisory experience for market entry and trading readiness initiatives. Knowledge of risk management frameworks and regulatory compliance. Experience designing and implementing advanced analytics platforms for trading organizations. Experience advising on modernizing trading systems with market‑leading vendor solutions such as OpenLink and RightAngle.
