Research and Development Engineer Intern

Research and Development Engineer Intern Position at the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) in the Mission Systems Department. The role supports complex system development across hypersonic systems, unmanned platforms, advanced manufacturing, and supply‑chain logistics. Responsibilities Perform systems modeling and analysis Develop requirements, architecture definitions, and system designs Develop and perform system tests Develop prototype systems including mechanical, electrical, and/or software subsystems Required Skills & Experience Strong written and oral communication skills Experience in providing clear written concepts to diverse audiences Preferred Skills & Experience Hands‑on experience with design, simulation, and testing Model-Based Systems Engineering training and experience Familiarity with systems engineering fundamentals Security Clearance Secret clearance required, or the ability to obtain one.
