Sr. Virtual Design Release Engineer - Power Systems

Salary: $156,000 - 196,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a degree in computer science, chemistry, automation, electronics and electrical engineering, or mechanical engineering.
• We expect at least 3 years of experience in automotive or computer-aided engineering.
• We need proficiency in Matlab or C++/Python programming.
• We require hands-on experience with simulation tools such as CarSim, Prescan, Saber, Simulink, Synopsys/ANSYS, Sherlock, CFD, FEA, SPICE, MathCAD, or comparable MIL, SIL, HIL, and VIL testing methods.
• We value experience with DNG, FMEAs, and the development of high-quality requirements.

• We develop and maintain domain expertise, requirements, use cases, and virtual scenarios for Electric Power systems, applying lessons learned to strengthen virtual integration.
• We establish and monitor quality, performance, and validation requirements across component, subsystem, and vehicle levels.
• We define and run traceable validation methods, including analysis tests for integration, subsystem, and full-vehicle use cases.
• We design, implement, and approve component- and subsystem-level simulation solutions using engineering analysis tools.
• We create standardized methods and models to carry out assigned analysis projects.
• We document, maintain, and continuously improve common CAE methods and requirements.
• We compare simulation results with physical test data and perform root cause analysis using simulation.
• We execute simulation test cases, generate reports, and support cross-functional virtual validation, including packaging and performance analysis.
• We lead optimization, benchmarking, trade studies, problem-solving investigations, and innovation efforts to improve performance, reduce warranty issues, and support launch excellence.
• We lead and support issue resolution, including supplier-, test-, and warranty-related concerns.
• We work with test teams to reproduce failures and build virtual scenarios that guide design improvements.
• We provide recommendations for product and process enhancements based on analytical findings.
• We lead Product Development Team activities for virtual model delivery aligned with program timing and quality targets.
• We manage virtual development projects, track validation progress, and present status updates to leadership.
• We ensure delivery of quality outputs such as virtual test reports, timing plans, DFMEA, DRBFM, and supplier reviews.
• We collaborate with global engineering teams, suppliers, and stakeholders across development and launch phases to support simulation success and milestone readiness.
• We mentor team members and help build capability within the Electric Power domain.
• We support subject matter experts in developing new roadmap solutions.
• We travel as required.
