Environmental Compliance Specialist

Job Title
Under general supervision and guidance of the Senior Environmental Scientist (Supervisor), this position is responsible for managing the Air Quality Management Program while also supporting and learning the requirements of the Solid Waste/Recycling, PFAS, Compliance Cleanup, and Aboveground/Underground Storage Tank (AST/UST) programs. Effective July 1, 2025, specific Bargaining Units and associated Excluded State employees are subject to a salary reduction between 2% - 4.62% in exchange for Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) hours each month. This posting may be used to fill future vacancies in accordance with 2 CCR §249.3 Individuals who are eligible for a Training and Development (T&D) assignment may also be considered for this position. T&D assignments are considered limited-term and may be extended up to a maximum of 24 months with the possibility of becoming permanent.
