Shift Information

Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. No weekends, holidays, or on-call duties.

Qualifications

American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) registration in Ultrasound Technology required.
Graduate of an accredited school of Ultrasound Technology or Radiology Technology.
AHA BLS certification required within 6 months of hire.
Previous experience performing ultrasound procedures is preferred or equivalent experience as determined by the Department Manager.
Quality conscious with strong interpersonal skills.
Dependable, organized, and able to exercise independent judgment.
High technical skills in ultrasound technology.

Job Responsibilities

Ensure all ultrasound images are of optimum diagnostic quality for accurate interpretation by radiologists.
Follow pre-determined image criteria to assess images, including required measurements, volumes, heart rates, and anatomical information.
Verify all images include necessary demographic information, charts, graphs, and measurements.
Operate diagnostic ultrasound processing and printing equipment to produce quality final images with all required data accurately presented.
Utilize appropriate technology and factors on ultrasound equipment.
Maintain proper patient positioning for optimal image quality.
Review physician orders for accuracy prior to examinations to ensure the correct procedures are performed.
Document on the requisition that the technologist has reviewed the order.
Manage patient orders and charges, ensuring exams are scheduled and patient information is accurate for record-keeping.
Accurately enter orders and charges into the Meditech Computer System.
Coordinate daily schedules and patient flow to ensure timely completion of exams.
Ensure a safe environment for patients by minimizing access to sharp or toxic objects, and proactively reducing fall risks.
Be sensitive to the communication needs of older patients, ensuring instructions and questions are clearly understood.
Interpret verbal and nonverbal responses to pain and implement appropriate pain management techniques.
Ensure the physical security of children in compliance with policies regarding the prevention of abduction.
Accommodate the needs of elderly patients during interactions and provide comfort during appointments.
