Software Engineer - Test Automation (Corporate Tech)

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, plus at least 2 years of applied experience.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools for coding, testing, troubleshooting, or documentation, including critically evaluating and validating generated outputs.
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering, including data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
• Experience across the full software development life cycle and exposure to agile methods, CI/CD, application resiliency, version control such as Git or Bitbucket, and security.
• Expertise in test automation and functional, performance, and regression testing.
• Proficiency in SQL and SQL-based test data management.
• Practical experience with at least one test automation tool, such as Selenium, Cucumber, or Playwright.
• Knowledge of Java.
• Expertise in behavior-driven development (BDD) and test-driven development (TDD).
• Oracle HCM testing or configuration experience.
• Preferred: Experience designing and building scalable automation frameworks with Selenium, Playwright, Cucumber, JUnit, TestNG, or similar technologies.
• Preferred: Proficiency in Java, Python, or another object-oriented language, with a focus on test automation and software quality engineering.
• Preferred: Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub, Bitbucket, Azure DevOps, or comparable platforms.
• Preferred: Knowledge of API, web services, and microservices testing with REST Assured, Postman, Karate, or equivalent tools.
• Preferred: Experience with performance, reliability, and resiliency testing using JMeter, LoadRunner, or similar technologies.
• Preferred: Familiarity with cloud application testing, containers, and automation in AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, or similar environments.
• Preferred: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities, with the capacity to collaborate across Product, Engineering, DevOps, and Quality Assurance teams.

• Design, develop, execute, and troubleshoot test automation solutions, using creative approaches to resolve technical challenges.
• Create secure, high-quality automation code and maintain algorithms that operate in sync with relevant systems.
• Use enterprise-authorized AI coding tools to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity; validate their outputs through peer review, automated tests, and secure coding practices.
• Apply software development life cycle tools, including authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to increase the value of automation.
• Produce architecture and design artifacts for test automation in complex applications and take accountability for quality code development.
• Gather, analyze, and develop test data solutions from large, diverse data sets to support automation, global quality coverage, and continuous improvement.
• Identify patterns and underlying issues in code quality and data, using automation to improve coding practices and system architecture.
• Contribute to test automation communities of practice and events focused on emerging technologies.
• Work closely with technology teams to implement BDD.
• Assess automation feasibility and calculate return on investment.
• Apply test automation experience with Java, Selenium, BDD Cucumber, API testing, and databases.
