About the Position

Job Title: Endoscopy Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: GI/Endoscopy Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 8 or 10-hour shifts plus call (to be discussed in interview) Hours per Shift: 40 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Strong circulating and teaching skills for advanced procedures such as EUS and ERCP. Fingernail policy: Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care. Refusal to remove nails will result in termination of the contract. Weekly weeknight call plus weekend call. Coverage currently involves 1-2 weeknights per week and approximately every 3 weekends. Description: Manage specialized imaging catheters, sphincterotomy wires, and stents to treat bile and pancreatic duct issues. Operate and troubleshoot the ultrasound processor and assist with Fine Needle Aspiration tools for tissue biopsies. Set up advanced electrocautery, injection needles, and snares for removing large, complex polyps or early-stage cancerous lesions. Handle specialized equipment, such as balloon catheters, for visualizing and treating the small bowel. Assist with endoscopic suturing, stent deployment, and Endoflip device setup for structural GI conditions. Responsible for the specialized, high-level disinfection and reprocessing of complex scopes in accordance with standards. RN candidates must pass an open book exam on skills learned during orientation with a required score of 90% to pass. Refusal to remove artificial nails will lead to contract termination. Cancellation policy allows the facility to cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment. Charting system utilized is EPIC.
