Positions that report to you: None. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Provide prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern, and patience in all customer interactions. Smile and greet customers in a friendly manner, wherever the encounter occurs. Make an effort to learn customers’ names and address them by name whenever possible. Assist customers by escorting them to desired products, securing out‑of‑reach items, loading or unloading heavy items, and noting customer suggestions or requests. Perform telephone duties promptly, offering helpful service to callers. Work with co‑workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment. Unloads trucks, opens containers, stocks shelves, runs overstock on risers, and rotates product. Monitor for miss‑picked items, review product outs, and identify wrong deliveries. Organize stock for greatest efficiency, clean and restock damaged items, tag shelves with overstock in the back room and understock drawers. Report new or different items to the scanning coordinator for system input. Maintain strict adherence to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress. Adhere to company policies and individual store guidelines. Report to work when scheduled, on time, and work the scheduled number of hours. Secondary Duties and Responsibilities Assist in other areas of the store as needed. Perform other job‑related duties and special projects as required. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics Problem solving with limited standardization. Arithmetic calculation involving fractions, decimals, and percentages. Understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions; write identifying information; request supplies orally or in writing. Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent. Six months or less of similar or related work experience. Physical Requirements Perform very heavy work, exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly. Visual requirements include vision from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet with or without correction, depth perception, color vision, and field of vision. Perform climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Working Conditions Exposed to dirt, noise, equipment movement hazards, chemicals/solvents daily. Occasionally exposed to temperature extremes and potential electrical shock.
