" Director Job Description " " Job Position: Director. " " Reports To: Owner of Future Scholars Childcare & Preschool. " " Summary / Objective " " Under general supervision of the Owner, the Director operates the center in conformance with center policies, core values, GSQ Accreditation standards, and CDC State licensing standards and provisions. The incumbent works closely with the Owner, leadership team, and center staff to maintain a passionate and nurturing culture for children and supports teachers in implementing a hands‑on curriculum. The Director is responsible for planning, organizing, implementing, coordinating, and controlling childcare services, exercising independent judgment with delegated decision‑making authority, including policies, procedures, staff supervision, and ensuring the health, safety, and quality of education for all children within the center’s care. The Director is directly accountable for overall operational management, including curriculum development, staff and facilities management, legal and budgetary considerations, and long‑range planning, ensuring that the needs of students and the goals of the center are met appropriately. " " Day to Day Leadership and Center Management " " " " Ensure that the center and staff conform to federal, state, and local rules, regulations, and licensing requirements. " " Provide day‑to‑day leadership and management that mirrors the organization’s mission and core values. " " Develop and implement operating policies and activities as required; develop cost estimates for future program needs. " " Assist staff in preparing for and presenting early childhood programs and activities; direct the organization and follow up on particular activities, assisting with instructional assistants’ duties. " " Use the CRM Child Care Management System in Procare Connect daily to contact and follow up with leads, maintaining full enrollment year‑round. " " " " Staff Management " " " " Resolve staff problems and adjust policies and procedures to ensure smooth operation in line with core values. " " Plan, develop, schedule, and provide in‑service training and staff evaluations. " " Coordinate and conduct monthly staff meetings on weekday evenings (6:30–7:30 p.m.). " " Orchestrate staff birthday, anniversary celebrations, and monthly appreciation activities. " " Conduct monthly one‑on‑one meetings with all center staff. " " Provide consultative services and coach employees on performance management, developing improvement plans when necessary. " " " " Program Management " " " " Implement company policies and emergency safety procedures; ensure staff training. " " Maintain an educational program accountability system aligned with legal and contractual standards. " " Collaborate with the Owner to advance GSQ accreditation standards. " " Interface with partner agencies to ensure quality control and program success. " " Develop master staff schedules and coordinate scheduling for contractual and financial compliance. " " Prepare and maintain administrative and business reports and records. " " Recruit and schedule children, maintaining accurate enrollment records, development, attendance, immunization, and health files. " " Ensure maximum student enrollment. " " Oversee all office functions, human resources, staff supervision, and purchasing of childcare supplies and equipment. " " Confer with parents regularly to discuss their children’s development. " " Conduct marketing campaigns to maintain public relations with parents, prospective clients, and community colleges. " " " " Facility " " " " Manage all activities related to maintaining facilities, office equipment, and systems. " " " " Supervisory Responsibility " " This position manages all childcare center employees and is responsible for performance management and hiring. " " Work Environment " " Job operates in a childcare facility environment and involves daily interaction with children in early learning classrooms. Assistance may be required at centers in Miami, FL and Doral, FL. " " Physical Demands " " The job requires occasional sitting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Employees must frequently lift up to 10 lbs and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs. Vision must include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and focus adjustment. Employees must be alert, unimpaired, and able to make logical decisions using good judgment. " " Position Type / Expected Hours of Work " " Full‑time. Hours are generally Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. Extended hours may be required to cover staffing during center hours or for monthly staff meetings. One day per week supervises the morning routine starting at 7:30 a.m. and one day per week manages closing procedures. One staff meeting per month is held 6:30–7:30 p.m. " " Travel " " 10% travel is required. " " Desired Education and Experience " " " " Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field. " " Minimum of five (5) years of teaching infants, toddlers, and/or preschoolers in a licensed childcare facility with at least three (3) years in a management role. " " Active Director’s Credential and Staff Credential. " " Knowledge of NAC accreditation and licensing standards is preferred. " " Completion of MiRegistry 24‑hour training and exam certification. " " Current First Aid & CPR training and certificate. " " Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). " " " " Preferred Education and Experience " " Up to five years of supervisory experience. Master’s degree in early childhood education.
