The Senior Clerk position serves as a staff support for the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) and may assist with other nutrition programs. He/she provides services in the WIC Program in accordance with the policies of the state WIC Program and regulations as stated in OHM 150-24. Work is performed under the supervision of the Operations Management Consultant Manager-SES.

Responsibilities include:

• Answering calls made to the Nutrition and Chronic Disease Prevention call center
• Gathering information to determine appointment needs and make the appropriate appointment
• Informing clients of what to bring to their appointments, appointment times, date, and location
• Performing general clerical and reception office duties to maintain the flow of incoming and outgoing services
• Attending mandatory and scheduled training
• Accurate and timely submission of Employee Activity Record (EARs), time records, travel logs, monthly report of activities, referrals, and other reports
• Answering telephones, filing, purge records, and perform travel in relation to above duties and for professional development
• Maintaining a courteous and cooperative working relationship with the staff, clients, and other Health Department staff always

A valid unrestricted Florida Driver's License and reliable transportation are required. Participate in the Florida Department of Health Duval County Nutrition and Chronic Disease Prevention Disaster Plan as required. Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services including needs assessment techniques, quality service standards, alternative delivery systems, and customer satisfaction evaluation techniques
• Knowledge of information and techniques is needed to rehabilitate physical and mental ailments and to provide career guidance including alternative treatments, rehabilitation equipment and its proper use, and methods to evaluate treatment effects
• Knowledge of principles and processes involved in business and organizational planning, coordination, and execution. This may include strategic planning, resource allocation, manpower modeling, leadership techniques, and production methods
• Knowledge of human behavior and performance, mental processes, psychological research methods, and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders

Qualifications:

• Minimum: Two years of experience working in a call center environment
• Must be available to work from 8 AM to 5 PM Monday through Friday
• Preferred: Have a high school diploma or GED. Have at least 1 year of experience in customer service or clerical role
