Position Overview
We are seeking a highly strategic, business-fluent, and relationship-driven Strategic Account Executive - Retail & Media to drive our commercial footprint and enterprise acquisition models across France under a permanent, full-time remote configuration. In this high-impact enterprise software expansion seat, you will claim absolute pipeline generation, new logo landing, and multi-tier account governance accountability across prominent retail and media verticals. Shifting completely away from routine standalone frontend user interface code writing, retail helpdesk customer service ticketing, or isolated data entry log transcription, you will run an active consultative pipeline, executive relationship building, and software procurement laboratory—partnering face-to-face with cross-functional solutions architects, product managers, channels, and marketing cells. This position requires an enterprise tech sales authority who handles abstract software development lifecycle (SDLC) values fluidly natively using Sales Representative paradigms, navigates multi-stakeholder corporate procurement cycles cleanly within the French market, maps out detailed strategic proposals tailored to business digital transformations, and coordinates technical pre-sales and post-sales adoption milestones confidently to establish GitLab as a premier digital platform partner.
Key Responsibilities
- Enterprise Opportunity Governance: Source, build, and drive strategic sales pipelines targeting large prospects and new logos across French Media and Retail organizations natively utilizing Sales Representative methods.
- Consultative Solution Positioning: Lead technical discovery calls and executive pitches, connecting business conversion pain points cleanly with GitLab AI-powered cloud DevSecOps platform features.
- Strategic Account Architecture: Author and manage multi-year account development plans, custom corporate proposals, and financial quotes aligned with client engineering transformations.
- Cross-Functional Adoption Synchronization: Coordinate across internal pre-sales solutions engineers, customer success managers, and technical support cells to secure seamless software rollouts.
- Channel & Partner Orchestration: Team up with regional software channel partners, distributors, and value-added resellers to extend outbound market coverage and pipeline volumes.
- Voice-of-Customer Contribution: Capture active enterprise market feedback and feature requests, logging product development concepts systematically into GitLab public issue tracking engine.
- Telemetry Forecasting Controls: Maintain meticulous sales cycle metrics, pipeline updates, and accurate forecast maps inside enterprise databases to optimize revenue predictions.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven professional history operating as an Enterprise Account Executive, Strategic Sales Lead, Technical Business Development Principal, or closely matching technical software sales capacity.
- Expert Enterprise Cycle Fluency: Extensive, hands-on history commanding complex, multi-stakeholder cloud-software sales cycles with a track record closing complex high-contract-value configurations.
- Grounded familiarity tracking modern application lifecycle management frameworks, security testing tools, or version control baselines (such as Git, CI/CD, or application security testing concepts).
- Outstanding written, verbal, and presentation communication strengths in French and English , with an established capacity to steer negotiations alongside corporate C-level decision-makers.
- Location Context: Position operates under remote guidelines open exclusively to qualified tech sales executives residing permanently within France .
Preferred Strategic Indicators (Nice to Have)
- Prior experience or pre-existing customer networks situated directly within the prominent French Retail, E-commerce, or Media/Entertainment business ecosystems.
- Familiarity with distributed, all-remote corporate dynamics operating under heavily asynchronous written project methodologies.
