Patient Service RepresentativeWe are seeking a Patient Service Representative, internally referred to as Patient Access Representative or Patient Registration Clerk, at our PMG – Westglen GI. As a Patient Service Rep, you interview the patient or his/her representative to obtain identifying and basic demographics to prep for upcoming visits.ResponsibilitiesInterviews the patient or his/her representative to obtain identifying and basic demographics to prep for upcoming visitsSchedules patients in their clinic and assists with scheduling them in othersVerifies insurance coverage, collects co-pays and prior balances from patients, reconciles and prepares deposits, and troubleshoots billing issuesGreets and checks in patients and handles all incoming phone calls and routes to appropriate staff or initiates messagesCoordinates clinic business processes such as supply ordering, sales calls, record release, fax and mail processingMust be able to: (1) operate a computer to accurately input and retrieve data; (2) communicate with the population served, staff, and providers utilizing age specific techniques; (3) maintain proficiency in medical terminology; (4) project a positive and helpful attitude.QualificationsPrevious experience in a medical setting, preferredKnowledge of medical terminology preferredHigh School Diploma or Equivalent preferredCustomer Service experience preferredEmployment StatusFull TimeShiftDaysEqual Employment OpportunityCompany is an equal employment opportunity employer.
