A major regional health center's behavioral health division is seeking a dedicated physician for an extensive, one-year locum tenens engagement. Step into an established, multi-disciplinary outpatient behavioral health program to deliver expert psychiatric care to infants, children, and adolescents.

• Clinical Scope: Provide comprehensive outpatient psychiatric evaluations and ongoing medication management services to patients ranging from 4 to 17 years old presenting with a wide spectrum of psychiatric diagnoses.

• The Schedule: Secure a stable 1-year block featuring full-time weekday hours, Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM 4:30 PM . There are no night, weekend, or holiday call responsibilities .

• Balanced Patient Volume & Appointment Structure: Clinical contact is comfortably paced at 6 to 7 hours per shift , leaving dedicated time daily for administrative tasks and charting. The facility offers robust appointment time flexibility to ensure high-quality care:

  • Psychiatric Evaluations: 60-minute dedicated blocks.

  • Medication Management Visits: 15-minute dedicated blocks.

• Administrative & Clinical Support: Practice with an elite level of administrative support. Dedicated Patient Access Representatives (PARs) manage 100% of the provider's scheduling, template coordination, and appointment reminders. While you will evaluate patients independently, you will be part of a highly collaborative mental health team. This position carries no supervisory or administrative responsibility over Advanced Practice Providers.

• Unified Technology: Streamlined charting and electronic prescribing utilizing a single-platform Epic EMR system covering both the ambulatory clinic and the broader hospital ecosystem.

To satisfy the highly specialized clinical criteria of this dedicated pediatric behavioral health service, candidates must meet the following professional parameters:

• Degree: MD or DO from an accredited medical program with a completed fellowship in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.

• Board Status: Strict Board Certification (BC) in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry is required.

• Licensure: Must hold an active, completely unencumbered New Jersey State Medical License and active federal DEA.

• Clinical Approach: Deep clinical maturity and a strong comfort level independently managing diverse acute and chronic pediatric psychiatric conditions within an urban community setting.
