Pension Actuarial ConsultantNyhart's Defined Benefit team offers pension actuarial consulting services for private, government, church, and cash balance plans. Our actuaries use their technical, financial and administrative expertise to provide guidance in the design and maintenance of retirement plans.ResponsibilitiesReconcile census and financial data utilized in preparing accounting and funding valuation reportsDraft routine deliverables, including contribution requirements, accounting costs, government forms and other standardized reportsUpdate assumptions and provisions in third-party software for use in annual valuationsPrepare and/or review routine benefit calculationsDevelop and maintain expertise on design and plan administration of assigned clientsInterface with client to handle routine valuation and administration-related tasksWork towards attaining actuarial credentialsResponsible for protecting, securing, and proper handling of all confidential data held by Ascensus to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to Ascensus or our clients.The I-Client philosophy and the Core Values of People Matter, Quality First and Integrity Always® should be visible in your actions on a day to day basis showing your support of our organizational culture.Skills & QualificationsBachelors degree in actuarial science, math or math related field; Overall GPA 3.0 or higher; Math or Actuarial GPA 3.5 or higherPassing grade on at least three actuarial examsPrior experience as an analyst supporting pension plan valuations and/or actuarial consulting teamsDemonstrated expertise with Microsoft, particularly Excel applicationsExperience with ProVal, exposure to public sector/church plans preferredExcellent analytical and communication skillsStrong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize, manage tasks and meet deadlines in connection with business operationsBe aware of employment fraud.
