Maintenance Mechanic

Maintenance DirectorWhile upholding the Star Valley Health mission, vision and values this key position is responsible for directing the performance of programs of campus maintenance, custodial, construction and security in a manner that will protect the public's investment and support the Hospital District's operations objectives. Such maintenance includes but is not limited to all buildings and improvements, grounds, utilities and mechanical/electrical systems, parking/roadways, equipment and vehicles. Serves as foreman, laborer, and contractor on campus constructions projects. Create and maintain annual maintenance and environmental services budgets. This is an at will position.Job DutiesMaintains mechanical, electrical and controls systems. Coordinates and orders contracted services as needed to accomplish repairsUsing manufacturers' recommendations and job knowledge, establishes and carries out a preventative maintenance program for physical plan, tools, equipment for which this position has responsibilityServes at times as project director, assuring federal and state contract compliance, timely completion of tasks, and satisfactory sub-contractor performance of any construction or remodelingPerforms maintenance of buildings, parking, walkway, and campus beautificationStays alert to all campus safety hazards to be corrected in a timely mannerActs as liaison with city, county, state and federal officials as it relates to fire, security and occupational safety when necessaryControls inventory to meet supply needs and work within budget constraintsWorks with Administrator as needed to prepare and maintain budgets, quality assurance and other reports required for departments to functionMust be willing to rotate call dutiesMaintains and enforces all applicable WDOH and OSHA programsPerform other duties and tasks as delegatedRequirementsAbilities & Skills:Professional oral and written communicationProficient with Microsoft Office products and InternetMulti-tasking skills with the ease of changing directions upon request and needSound analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to work in a team-oriented environment, communicate effectively, and demonstrate sensitivity to clients, visitors and staffStrong organizational and prioritization aptitudeComply with HIPAA and other federal, state and local regulations, as well, as maintain the highest degree of confidentiality in client and staff mattersConstant standing, walking, pushing, pulling, bending and reaching throughout the day. Must be able to lift fifty (50) pounds on a regular basisMust be able to lift one hundred (100) pounds or more on occasionA component of supervision of maintenance staff to ensure proper scheduling and execution of duties may be assigned to this position.Experience & Education:Three to five years facilities maintenance experience including supervision and inspection of constructionTraining in mechanical and electrical systems, heating and air conditioningAssociates degree or other post-secondary education preferred or equivalent work experienceMust maintain a valid driver's licenseFacilities maintenance of health care campuses experience desiredNote: Position descriptions are intended to serve as a guideline for typical duties and requirements of a position, but are not inclusive.
