About the Position

Job Title

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – CVOR

Location

Asheville, NC | Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)

Contract | Travel | Days | 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM | 9-Week Assignment | Projected Start: October 12, 2026

Key Responsibilities

• Perform the scrub role for complex cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures including CABG, Valve Replacement, VAD Insertions, TAVR, VATS, Lobectomy, Pacemaker/AICD Insertions, Septal Myectomy, Ross Procedure, EVH, IABP Insertions, Femoral Cannulation, and Circulatory Arrest
• Function as scrub technologist in a 6-OR cardiovascular suite, supporting cases that each require one scrub and one circulator; pump cases may also require a first assist or heart holder role
• Operate and handle Stryker equipment in accordance with facility and surgical attire policies
• Document accurately using the Cerner electronic documentation system
• Participate in assigned and rotated on-call shifts as scheduled
• Float to other areas infrequently as needed based on unit demands

Required Qualifications

• CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) certification required — no exceptions
• BLS certification required
• Extensive, demonstrated CVOR scrub experience is required
• Minimum of 2 prior travel assignments required — no exceptions

Preferred Experience / Skills

• First assist experience and proficiency in the CVOR setting
• Familiarity with Cerner documentation systems
• Experience in high-volume, efficient cardiovascular surgical environments
