Machine Learning Engineer (Generative AI)

Salary: $131,000 - 180,000 per year Requirements:

• We are looking for an MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline.
• We value a strong foundation in machine learning, deep learning, NLP, and generative AI, particularly in scientific or technical settings.
• We expect practical experience with LLM pretraining, supervised fine-tuning (SFT), post-training alignment such as RLHF, and thorough model evaluation.
• We require proficiency in Python and experience with frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• We seek experience working with structured and unstructured scientific data, including literature, experimental outputs, and simulation results, as well as building domain-specific models.
• We look for excellent communication skills and the ability to work across disciplines and present complex ideas to varied audiences.

• We develop, pretrain, fine-tune, and align LLMs and generative models for scientific and materials science data, literature, and workflows.
• We create and improve post-training methods, alignment approaches, and evaluation frameworks to ensure models are robust, accurate, and trustworthy for scientific use cases.
• We design and implement generative solutions that help accelerate materials discovery, hypothesis generation, and hardware design.
• We partner with scientists, engineers, and cross-functional teams to identify high-impact applications of generative AI in materials science.
• We build and maintain scientific datasets, benchmarks, and evaluation protocols to support model validation and ongoing improvement.
• We stay current with advances in AI, machine learning, and materials science, and we publish original research in leading venues.
• We mentor junior team members and help foster a collaborative, inclusive research culture.
